York PA Real Estate

The City of York was founded in 1741 and named after the famous city in Great Britain. Having once served as the nation’s capital during the Revolutionary War, the City of York is full of history. Today, York City features the prominent Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, which regularly presents independent and classic films, as well as live music and entertainment. Also calling York City home are several colleges and trade schools, such as York College of Pennsylvania, established in 1787.

York City is located 50 miles outside of Baltimore and a mere 25 miles outside of Harrisburg. The streets of York City are lined with classic homes, most of which are over 100 years old. Much of the housing is fairly inexpensive, with great potential for home improvement—given the sturdy construction of such homes.
